#166: An FTF for Everyone!

Early in the new year, a coworker and I went out during lunch to test our her new GPS unit (a Christmas gift!). Both of our units (her GPSr and my Droid) took us to the exact location, and the clue made it clear where to look (the clue said "Odds are 1 in 8" and there were 8 free newspaper boxes), so we assumed this one would be simple.

After searching the boxes inside and out for a few minutes, we noticed an elderly woman watching us. Finally, she approached us to ask what in the world we were up to. We explained geocaching as best we could, and then she joined in the search!! My coworker was the first to finally locate this nano (a small magnetic container that holds only a small scroll of paper for logging your find). It was the first time that I've ever been approached by a stranger while geocaching, and DEFINITELY the first time I ever had a stranger join in the search!
